Charcoal

In this lesson our tutor told us to draw 3 boxes, he told us to shade them from the lightest to darkest and then a medium between the two. Between the boxes we had to then draw two more boxes and shade them in, we had to make a shade that was a mixture of the outside boxes. Then we were told to shade the entire page in the 3rd shade. After that we had draw the darkest places on the subject and then by using a putty rubber we had to rub out the charcoal to create the highlights. We had to finish our drawing by only using the shades in the five boxes and make the picture entirely out of tones instead of a simple line drawing.
